Last month, I had the amazing opportunity to adopt a sand dune on Honeymoon Island along with The Fishes Wishes! With help from the students at the National Honor Society, we planted 10,000 morning glory and panic grass plants on our adopted sand dune. These plants help the sand dune flourish in many ways, one of the main ones being that it prevents erosion. This planting made a huge difference and helped to establish a new dune line in the North Beach area of the park. We even got a plaque next to the sand dune to show that we were the ones who adopted it!
