The youth ocean conservation film festival (YOCS), is an annual event which was created by well-known ocean conservationist, Sean Russell and is hosted annually at the Mote Marine Laboratory. In 2019, my two friends, Ryan, Sebastien, and I decided to enter a film called “Corporate Ocean.” We had won our age group the previous year with our film, Ocean Needs Everyone, so we were looking to get two in a row. We had no idea what would happen, because there were some very strong films in the competition. But days after submitting our film, we were notified that we had won our age group! We were ecstatic that we won two years in a row, and we even got our film featured at the event. We are so passionate about the topic of ocean conservation, and it felt good to know that our hard work payed off and share our passion with others! The film is attached below.
