One day, my family and I went out on our jet skis to enjoy the water. There are islands so close to where I live which are home to lots of wildlife. When we got to Caledisi Island, it was so sad to see how much trash had washed up since the last time we’d been there. The amount of creatures being affected was astonishing, and their home was completely littered with trash. It was then that I realized that the islands had been “forgotten.” This experience inspired me to initiate a project called The Forgotten Islands where volunteers pick up trash on the beach and dispose of it properly.
